Riddle Records is an independent, Malta-based electronic label founded in 2025 by the teams behind Cafe Society and Riddle Series parties. We focus on curating and releasing quality music across electronic styles and genres. We are community-driven and no rm-def ying. We are DJs, producers, and nightlife professionals ourselves, so we understand how hard it can be to break through, and how little support there can be in cultivating new concepts on this island.
We work with and spotlight exceptional Malta-grown talen. t , curated from an ever-growing community of both up-and-coming and seasoned artists , DJs discovered through the vibrant nightlife network that has evolved in and around Cafe Society Valletta. Our mission is to support and provide both a physical and online platform for these artists, through carefully selected releases, DJ showcases, and immersive events.

MXTP 2025 is the first of an annual compilation EP that highlights artists connected through Cafe Society Valletta, as the legendary bar and DJ hangout in Malta celebrates its 10-year anniversary.
riddle radio is a new midweek dj platform at cafe society, that spotlights emerging artists and provides a platform to share their sound.
on select Tuesday nights, DJs each perform a 90 minute set, which is professionally audio and 360-degree video recorded, and published on our website, Soundcloud, and YouTube.
Named after a nightclub in 1930’s New York– the first establishment to openly allow black and white customers– Cafe Society Valletta is living up to its legacy as one of the first bars in Malta to be openly LGBTQ+ inclusive, and is paving the way in providing inclusive spaces to an underrepresented community.
Opened in 2015 by three DJs, and operating for over ten years, Cafe Society is a high-volume cocktail bar known for its world-class bartenders and cocktail menu, its quick and friendly service, and its legendary music and events, which attract the best of the queer-identifying, the hospitality industry, and of course the DJ & musician community that forms the foundation of Riddle Records.
Cafe Society has become a home to a thriving network of artistic souls, serving as a place to share creativity and passion with like-minded people. It is that passion that permeates through everything from the drinks to the decor to the tunes, and has caused Cafe Society Valletta to become an iconic landmark in Malta’s bar and music scene, and the perfect breeding grounds for Riddle Records to form.

BOXFiSH are the dynamic duo behind Riddle Series parties, the music directors of Cafe Society Valletta, and co-founders of Riddle Records. Raoul Parsons (UK) and Anastasia Ignatova (Russia/Malta) are partners in DJing, in music production, and in life, having met while studying at Point Blank Music School in London. They moved together to Malta in 2021 and started Riddle Series, and have been pushing boundaries and raising the bar for the underground music scene of the island ever since.
